Our current food systems are responsible for 30% of greenhouse gas emissions, and the EU has a target to reduce food waste by 50% by 2030. Addressing these challenges requires collaboration across sectors, disciplines and governance levels.
This interactive event will bring together researchers, municipalities, food sector actors, producers, SMEs, civil society and other stakeholders to explore practical pathways for food system transformation.
Using Thessaloniki as a case example, participants will engage in:
- Short presentations of three ongoing Horizon Europe projects related to food system resilience and sustainability
- A co-creation lab on food systems and sustainability
- Interactive group work on food waste, citizen engagement, skills, governance and local value chains
- Joint reflection and networking
The event combines knowledge sharing with participatory approaches to connect policy, research and practice.
Key Themes: Food system resilience • Citizen engagement and behaviour • Food waste and local value chains • Skills and governance for sustainable transitions • Data, policy and regional collaboration
Please register by 29th of May 2026.
