Platform design

The FOODMISSION platform will integrate citizen science data with motivation and engagement tools into a user-friendly mobile app and website.

Participants will create profiles, avatars, and teams (e.g., households, friends, or anonymous groups) to track food habits.

Gamification elements such as levels, badges, and rewards will encourage sustainable food practices.

Educational content, personalized dashboards, and interactive challenges will further engage users, making sustainable food choices both fun and impactful.

The platform will continuously evolve based on user feedback from pilot testing across six European countries (Norway, Italy, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Slovenia).
