Researchers, policymakers, municipalities, businesses and civil society representatives gathered in Thessaloniki for the “From Knowledge to Action: Food System Resilience and Sustainability in Practice” co-creation event. The workshop created a collaborative space for participants to exchange knowledge, share experiences and jointly explore practical solutions for transforming food systems.
The programme combined short presentations of Horizon Europe projects with interactive workshops and group discussions, encouraging participants to work together on some of the most pressing challenges facing today’s food systems. Discussions focused on food waste, citizen engagement, governance, skills development and strengthening local food value chains.
Among the projects presented were FOODMISSION, SPOON and SkillResilience4EU, showcasing complementary approaches to building more resilient, sustainable and inclusive food systems across Europe. The event also highlighted the value of connecting research and innovation projects, enabling participants to exchange experiences, identify synergies and learn from different perspectives.
The co-creation sessions demonstrated the importance of collaboration in developing solutions that respond to local needs while contributing to broader European sustainability goals. By bringing together stakeholders with diverse expertise and backgrounds, the event fostered meaningful dialogue and encouraged new ideas for future cooperation.
